Whilst attending a networking event last week, I was asked the question “so what does Morgen HR do?” As every person knows, the perfect answer always comes to you as you are walking away!
It wasn’t until our meeting had concluded and I was driving back to the office that I had that epiphany. My Company doesn’t just provide all of the services that I mentioned, it provides solutions. Yes we can put together legal documents, and do on a regular basis, and yes we can run your payroll and provide Personal Profiles but on the whole, what we sell to our clients are solutions.
We are normally approached by our prospective clients after the problems have cropped up. Quite often when a tribunal claim has landed on their desk or when their staff are no longer working to the “100% efficiency” that is expected of them. That is where we step in. Our problem solving skills and list of contacts are the products that seal the deal. We have been given problems to solve from “how can I stop my employee from walking in late all of the time?” to “what would be a suitable benefits package to offer to my employees?” and on one occasion negotiated a package of burial for employees working in Indonesia. It would seem that different people have different needs and in Indonesia where burials are expensive, it was the benefit that added value to the job.
Although these stories are few and far between, the unusual can pop up every now and again. Each time we have managed to find the solution to our client’s needs.
On a subject closer to home for most of our clients, we were approached by a Company who was launching a new product but could not get it to sell. They believed that their employees did not see a value in pushing the sale. Once we were more involved we were able to discuss the product with the Company and its staff before recommending a bonus scheme that would drive sales. Without sounding too smug, It became their best selling product!
Simple solutions but always effective and with outside eyes and a little ingenuity, anything can be achieved!
